A queen with a mission to preserve Jamaica’s root and culture in music.
Back in November last year, Koffee released a mainstream hit, “Toast”, the follow up to her debut hit single “Raggamuffin”. Born Mikayla Simpson, Koffee’s mission is to preserve Jamaica’s roots and culture in music and to empower the youth of her generation through her musical journey across the world.
Her music is inspired by listening to Reggae and Dancehall artists like Proteje and Super Cat. Koffee is back with another track, “Throne” accompanied by visuals. Produced by Walshy Fire, “Throne” is a representative of strong, positive female energy and empowerment that encourages Jamaicans to detest corruption and embrace their culture and identity.
“I want to make a better world for the generation that’s coming up,” Koffee writes, “to promote love and peace, and even though I’m young, I feel that God has blessed me with talent and wisdom to get the job done.”
Listen to “Throne” in our Noir Wave playlist on Spotify and Deezer.
